Brickwall Cutting Board (Landscape)
This one-of-a-kind, amazing looking Brickwall cutting board is an eye popper that will accent any home or restaurant kitchen. It is an end grain, landscape cutting board made from Walnut with 3/16” Maple spacers to represent the mortar between each brick and measures 1-1/4”x 12” x 17-1/4”. End grain cutting boards take longer to build and are more labor intensive but prove to be a higher standard cutting board over an edge grain cutting board. The knife cutting marks are less on an end grained cutting board, leaving the cutting board a lesser change for bacteria to grow. Each cutting board is sanded with 80, grit, 120 grit, 180 grit, and 220 grit. It is them sprayed with water, allowing the board to dry and raising the grain. Once dry, it is sanded for the last time with 220 grit to a smooth finish. The cutting board is, then, placed in a vat of mineral oil and allowed to saturate for 1 hour. It is then removed and allowed to drip dry overnight. The next day, it is finished with a beeswax/mineral oil finish. I use Titebond III, a waterproof glue in the construction of all my cutting boards.
*NOTE: A juice groove and rubber feet may be added at the customer’s request at no extra charge.
