With Jesse Horn

TBA

Skill Level: Intermediate

Class size: 1-3

Tools required:  Face shield or safety glasses, dust mask, parting tool, 3/8” spindle gouge, ¾” roughing gouge, ruler, pencil, calipers (Easy Wood Mid-Sized Hollower No. 1-Optional)

This class is designed to enhance your hollowing skills, tool sharpening and ability to make a reliable jam/spigot chuck. The class will begin with Jesse providing safety tips and a quick recap of woodturning 101.  This will lead into Jesse demonstrating how to properly sharpen a turning tool using the Wolverine Sharpening Jig.  Each student will be taught the step-by-step procedures for laying out and turning the ornamental birdhouse and will be provided a set of instructions for future reference.  The class will be using exotic woods, so a dust mask is a must.  Optional- If you have an Easy Wood Mid-Sized Hollower No.1, bring it to class, if not Woodcraft will have them available for purchase.  This tool is not only a great hollowing tool, but an asset for all woodturning projects.  It is very versatile.  You will leave the classroom with a beautiful ornament.  A kit will be provided to each student.
