This class is designed to enhance your turning skills, tool sharpening and ability to make a reliable jam/spigot chuck. The class will begin with Jesse providing safety tips and a quick recap of woodturning 101.  This will lead into Jesse demonstrating how to properly sharpen a turning tool using the Wolverine Sharpening Jig.  Each student will be taught the step-by-step procedures for forming, hollowing and finishing an orb. You will have the opportunity to texture/decorate, stain and finish your orb  (texture tools, stain and lacquer will be furnished). In addition, you will be taught how to turn a finial.  The class will be using Cherry, Maple or Mahogany (instructor’s choice), as its wood of choice.  Whenever woodturning, it is always advisable to use a dust mask and face protection.  Please bring your tools of preference to class.  You should leave the classroom with a beautiful Christmas Ornament.  All wood will be provided to each student.
